OLD TOWN – Edward Bowden, 59, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes. He was born March 9, 1950, in Old Town. Ed attended Old Town schools and had been employed at the mill for 40 years. He had a lot of memories of “the guys:” Apple, Ron, Brooksie, Ray, Nellie and many others. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; his “baby girl,” Karen and son-in-law, Matt Jellison, of Dedham; and his boy “Bud,” Edward II “Russ” and daughter-in-law, Laura, of Ellsworth. He was a very proud Pop-Po to his “little guy” grandson, Lucien; and his “little princess” granddaughter, Ella. He will be sadly missed by his dog, Chief; brothers, Lawrence Bowden Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Oakland; his baby sister, Carol and her husband, Jack, of Limerick, Pa.; niece, Christine; nephew, Mark; great-nephew, Kahn; great-niece, Kiata; aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Corrine. At his request, there will be no services. For those who wish, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
