GLENNIS LEOLA (MAXELL) HANNAN HOULTON – Glennis Leola (Maxell) Hannan, 92, died May 2, 2009, at a local health care facility. She was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Orient, daughter of Otis and Lulu (Robbins) Maxell. Glennis grew up in Orient and was a graduate of East Grand High School. She worked for a time at Madigan Memorial Hospital after graduating with a nursing degree, however most of her life was devoted to caring for her husband, her children and her church. She will be remembered as a woman who cared more for others than herself, who was the epitome of strength and wisdom, and who loved her family dearly. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son, Terry Hannan and his wife, Cozy, of Bangor; her daughter, Bernadette and her husband, Carroll Willette, of Linneus; and her grandchildren, Suzette and Mark Ruggerio and their children, Bethany and Moriah, all of St. John Plantation, Steven and Laura Hannan of Palm Coast, Fla., Jennifer Willette and her daughter, Mallory Raymore, of Anchorage, Alaska, Alicia and Benjamin Cook of Waldoboro, Carol and Michael Khalil and their son, Dillon, of Vienna, Va., Alison Willette and her sons, Bode Allen and Kilian Willette and her partner, Darren McCordic, of Houlton and Kathleen Willette and her fiance, Christopher Corey, of Portland. Glennis was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Hannan; two sons, Michael and Dennis; and her grandson, Joshua Ruggerio. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
