BOURNE, Texas – Robert K. Brown, 64, passed away April 29, 2009, at his home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born Aug. 23, 1943, in Pittsfield, to George W. and Frances (Emery) Brown. He attended Pittsfield schools and Maine Central Institute, where he played soccer. He was a great reader, enjoyed poetry, gardening and his dogs. He was a loyal employee at SAS, San Antonio, for the last 33 1/2 years as a leather buyer. He traveled widely for the company enjoying his work and his fellow workers. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelia (Chandonnet) Brown of Bourne, Texas; a daughter, Bobbi-Jo Hebert and husband, Kevin, of Bradford, R.I.; a son, Christopher R. Brown of San Antonio; a brother, Darrell G. Brown and wife, Duck Hee, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Georgie Farrin and husband, Ronald, of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, James Hebert, Jeffrey Hebert and Emily Hebert of Rhode Island and Elizabeth Brown of Texas; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and very special in-laws. He was predeceased by his father, George W. Brown of Lewiston; his mother and stepfather, Frances L. and Wilton S. Buckley of Pittsfield; and a special aunt, Glenice M. Emery of Pittsfield. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, at St. Peter’s the Apostle Catholic Church, Bourne, Texas. He will be interned at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, on a date to be announced later.
