PATTEN – Gladys M. Brennan, 96, passed away May 16, 2009, in Patten. She was born Sept. 16, 1912, in Benedicta, the daughter of Jerry and Annie (Lawler) Brennan. She was a graduate of St. Benedict’s High School at age 16, and attended business college in Bangor. Later she worked for the Rev. Leo White for 27 years, until he passed away in 1981. She enjoyed her grandchildren, and spending time with her family and friends, loved music, dancing, bingo and the Red Sox. She lived a great life and traveled a lot. She and her sisters went to Ireland, which she enjoyed very much. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Sweeney of Arundel; one grandson, Glen Gould of Patten; three granddaughters, Christy Hall and her husband, Rick, of Mount Chase, Claudia Stewart of Old Orchard, and Cynthia Brown and her husband, Shawn, of Arundel; 19 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carlene Michaud of East Millinocket, Virginia Bulger of Patten, and Terese Albert of Benedicta; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Richard Gould; a granddaughter, Cheryl Hartt; three sisters, Thelma Brennan, Madeline Thomas and Patricia Brennan. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hrynick and the staff of Mount Height’s for the great care she received while she was there, she will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with Deacon Danny Watson officiating. Interment will be at St. Benedict’s Cemetery.
