COLUMBIA, S.C. – Lawrence Merle Lancaster, 76, passed away Dec. 17, 2008. He was born May 18, 1932, in Dexter, to Beatrice and Clifton Lancaster. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1972. He is survived by his son, Robin of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Gerald of Amherst, N.H.; brother, Keith of Gray; brother, Richard of Dexter; and a sister, Nancy Bell of Millinocket. A graveside service with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
