One welcome sign of spring is the appearance of the Y Players who will entertain you with their version of “The Hollywood Canteen” and then a ride on the Gospel train.

Director Pam Martin reports performances are 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24; 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26; 7 p.m. Friday, May 29; 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30; 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31; and 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, all at the Bangor YMCA on Second Street.

“We are going to the Hollywood Canteen, complete with donut dollies and the Andrew Sisters,” Martin wrote.

The second act features Gospel music with “tambourines, the banjos and dancing in the aisles.”

And while some longtime regulars are more likely to be in the audience than part of the production, many of your favorites will be there, so Martin wants “everyone to come see our show as I know it’ll be the best time they’ve ever had.”

She reminds you admission is by “donation only” and urges you to bring a friend.
