TURNER – Michael J. Latlippe, 58, passed May 19, 2009, after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Lewiston, the son of Robert and Phyllis Latlippe of Auburn. He graduated from ELHS in 1969. In 1970 he married Teri Latlippe and together they raised two wonderful children here and in the Bangor area. He started his retail career at Kings, Auburn, as assistant receiver, working his way up to manager in the Bangor area. He went on to manage Ames department stores in Orono, Oxford and Rumford, and was the manager of Rich’s Department Store, Auburn. He remained in the retail business working in merchandising at Lowe’s and other department stores located in central and mid coast Maine. His greatest joy in life was being with and creating memories with his family. He loved making his grandchildren laugh, spending time at Pink Camp, trips to Disney, hiking at Baxter, enjoying Mount Desert Island, being Santa and simply “yard gardening.” He was a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America and a Girl Scout Troop leader while his children were growing up. He was highly organized and the go-to person for anything that needed to be done. He was interested in sports and was a member of the Appeals Board in Turner for several years. Mike is survived by his wife of 39 years, Teri; his children, Todd Latlippe and wife, Kerry, of Bangor; daughter, Traci Latlippe and fianc?, Scott Warren, of Virginia; his beloved grandchildren, Mariah and Sydney Latlippe and Nathan Warren; his mom, Phyllis Latlippe of Auburn; brother, Bob Latlippe of Poland; sister, Heidi and Greg Moody of Florida; aunt, Virginia Huntington; aunt and uncle, Shirley and Joseph Beaudoin; many special nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins. He was predeceased by his father in February 2007. The family would like to thank the very special nursing staff of M-1 at Central Maine Medical Center, Dr. Erickson and especially Julianne Roberts, N.P., for their caring of the entire family. There will be an open house celebration of life 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Mike’s home, 315 Lower St., Turner.
