OLD TOWN – Eugene H. Wasson, 74, died May 24, 2009, after a battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 22, 1934, in East Machias, the son of Vinnie (McLaughlin) and Alvin Wasson. He will be remembered for being a hard worker and driving his truck. He hated to take his vacation time. He worked for Sargent Inc. for more than 50 years and enjoyed every minute of it – even on the weekends. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Lois (Wood); two sons, Alvin and his wife, Brenda Wasson, of Old Town, and Eugene and his wife, Luanne, of Greenfield; his daughter, Lori-Lee Snyder and her husband, Nathan, of Old Town; one brother, Pete of Norridgewock; two sisters, Myrna Davis of Ellsworth, and Donna Richardson and her husband, Ira, of Machias; and four grandchildren, Mark Wasson, Cory Wasson, Erin and Kade Snyder. Thanks to all who came to visit and support the family. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. June 6 at Herbert Sargent Community Center, Old Town.
