BEALS ISLAND – Grover Cleveland Faulkingham Jr., 60, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1948, in Beals, son of Grover Cleveland Sr. and Ruth (Beal) Faulkingham. He was a member of Beals Wesleyan Church. Like his father, Grover worked as a lobster fisherman. He also worked as a marine surveyor. He graduated from Beals High School and attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He was a member of American Boat and Yacht Council and the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors. Grover is survived by his companion, Cheryl Tibbetts; his mother, Ruth, both of Beals; two daughters, Trudy and her husband, Tim Alley, and Valerie Faulkingham, all of Jonesport; two brothers, John and his wife, Doris, of Beals and Earle and his wife, Lenore, of Jonesport; three grandchildren, Mallory and Owen Alley and Isaiah Faulkingham; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Grover Cleveland Faulkingham Sr.; and his special uncle, Jimmy Beal. Visiting hours will be held noon-2 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Alley’s Bay Wesleyan Mission, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Ark Animal Shelter, P.O.
