TRENTON – Harrison P. Sawyer Jr., 56, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, from injuries he received in an accidental fall while retrieving a tree stand in the Pittston Farm area northwest of Greenville. His family is comforted knowing he was in the woods doing what he loved best. He was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Bar Harbor, the son of Harrison P. and Barbara (Robbins) Sawyer Jr. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marsha Clark Sawyer; their children and families, Adam Sawyer of Trenton, Wayne Sawyer and Bridgette Shorey and their children, Nolan Sawyer and Kerrigan Shorey of Trenton, Kristie Sawyer Clement and Jesse Clement and their son, Jordan Young of Bucksport, and Kati Richards of Bar Harbor; sisters, Barbara Gray of Trenton and Patricia Donnell of Ellsworth; his father-in-law, Robert Clark of Hulls Cove; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Mary Clark of Bar Harbor, Gary and Diane Clark of Trenton, Nelia Lake of Ellsworth and Susan Clark of Vermont. He leaves behind a multitude of special people in his life, but notably Scott Ashey of Trenton, Fred and Yvette Herring, and Hugh and Peggy Cummings, all of Millinocket, Rich and Jonnie Johnson of Brewer, Bruce and Susan Tripp of Trenton and Charles Eagan of Hancock. He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Edward Gray and Harrison Sawyer Sr. The family thanks Robert, Guy and Jen Mills of Pittston Farm, the Maine state game wardens and forest service rangers, Life Flight personnel, ambulance and rescue volunteers, the New England Organ Bank and the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center, who went above and beyond to provide Harrison the opportunity for a better outcome.
