ORLAND – Jason L. DeWitt, 34, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 30, 2009. He was born July 4, 1974, in Ellsworth, the son of Larry T. and Kimberly (Hurd) DeWitt. Jason was educated in Bucksport and Appleton schools. Jason loved to be around people; he was witty and loved to laugh and make people laugh. He loved country music, Ford trucks and his faithful canine companions, Jake and Murray. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his mother, Kimberly (Hurd) Dewitt; his father, Larry T. DeWitt and his wife, Brenda; his fiancee, Lori Dorr; the love of his life, his daughter, Brittney DeWitt; one sister, Angela Rogerson and her husband, Gary; beloved maternal grandmother, “Gram” Verna Hurd; special uncle, Sheldon Hurd, whom Jason thought of as a father; aunts and uncles, Doris Winchester and her longtime companion, Sonny Peare, Gene Hurd and his wife, Marilyn, Sandra Burns and her special friend, Sonny Lemuiex, Lawrence Hurd and his wife, Mary, Rodney Hurd and his special friend, Geri Rackliff, and Linda Pelletier and her husband, Bonhomme; as well as many cousins and many, many friends. A graveside service will be held noon Friday, June 5, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jason’s daughter, Brittney DeWitt, in care of Seaboard Federal Credit Union, 177 Main St., P.O. Box G, Bucksport, ME 04416.
