Proceeds from a 7-on-7 Soccer Tournament for boys and girls teams will benefit the Nathan D. Clark Memorial Scholarship and Students Against Destructive Decisions at Hampden Academy, reports Bill Burke.
The games begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, in Hampden. The registration deadline is Friday, June 12.
The entry fee for the open tournament with a round-robin format is $150. Each team is guaranteed three games.

Admission to the games is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.
The event also features a block-party-theme barbecue Friday night and all day Saturday and an alumni game at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Kiwanis Club will hold a pancake breakfast 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday, and a silent auction will be conducted during Saturday’s games.
A Battle of the Bands is 8-10:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for students.
The local bands are Sam & Yuri, Martin Earley, The Besides, Evidence Unseen, The Exclusive, The Bay State, Hindsight and Autopirate.
Burke reports the fundraiser is receiving assistance from SADD, the Hampden Police Department, the community and local businesses.
“We have some high school teams already committed and some alumni as well,” he added,
“We are anticipating a great turnout.”
Clark, who died recently, was a member of the Hampden Academy Class of 2009.

Tish Pendergast of United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Maine in Bangor reports preregistration is required and seating is limited to the first 100 applicants for a Lifespan Respite Summit, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at St. Paul Center in Augusta.
The guest speaker is Jill Kagan of the National Respite Coalition, who will discuss “Lifespan Respite law, existing sources of federal respite funds and Lifespan Respite programs in other states,” according to the release.
Admission is free and lunch will be provided.
