GREENBUSH – Rose Y. Buck, 84, died peacefully June 11, 2009, at her residence, with her loving family by her side. She was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Old Town, a daughter of Phillip and Dolores (Michaud) Lavoie. During World War II, Rose was fondly known as “Rose the Riveter” as she worked as an aircraft mechanic at Presque Isle Army Base. She retired from General Motors in 1984. Rose enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making crafts, playing cards, and going to the casino and bingo. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Amos of Greenbush; six children, Dottie Buxton of Greenbush, Susan Dugan and her husband, Danny, of Bradford, Robin Sibley and her husband, Jimmy, of Milford, Linwood Buck and his wife, Evelyn, of Burlington, Gene Buck and his wife, Karen, of Milford, and Arthur Buck and his partner, Grace Davis; a special granddaughter, Kayla, who lovingly cared for Rose at the end; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Stanley Buck. At her request, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Dialysis Center, Penobscot Valley Hospital, P.O.
