HERMON – Greta Adeline (Drinkwater) Reynolds, 95, passed away June 17, 2009, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Hampden, one of 11 children of Thomas and Nettie (Crosby) Drinkwater Sr. She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver, and built her life around her family. Greta is survived by four devoted sons and five daughters-in-law, Ronald Sr. and Donna, Terrance and Patricia, James and Gaynor, all of Hermon, Steven and Florance of Levant, and Margaret of Otis; her brother, Thomas Drinkwater Jr. of Milford; a sister, Charlotte Martin of Kenduskeag; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-granddaughters. Greta was predeceased by her husband, Victor H. Reynolds, in 1971; her daughter, Roberta, in 2000; her son, Dennis Sr., in 2005; her grandson, John, in 1965; her brothers, Harold, Perley, Donald, Leslie, Alton and David; and sisters, Helen Martin and Dorothy Martin. She was also predeceased by Francis B. Duffy of Bangor, in 2003, a special friend of later years. The family thanks the staff of Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center for the care given to their mother for the past nine years. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Hermon, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of Hermon Baptist Church, officiating.
