BREWER – Verna Minnie Burgess, 80, passed away June 18, 2009, at an Orono health care facility. She was born Dec. 16, 1928, the daughter of Vernon and Helen (Pinkham) Delano. Verna is survived by her daughter, Linda Davis; her son, Louis Burgess; her grandchildren, Joseph Burgess, Tonya Modery, Lawrence James Burgess Jr., Lynn Campbell and Troy DeRoche; and her great-grandchildren, Billy and Brock Modery. She is also survived by her close friend, Carole Ammerman. Verna was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard; her sister, Helena Brown; and her great-aunt, Hattie Morris. Services for Verna will be private. Care is entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home, Old Town.
