WASHBURN – Shirley Rand, 70, died June 18, 2009, in Washburn. She was born March 11, 1939, in Chapman, the daughter of Wallace and Lucy (Bull) Rand. She attended Washburn schools and was employed at McCain’s for several years. She is survived by a son, Randy Plissey of Washburn; a beloved grandson, Ryan Moulton, who she loved very much; her brothers, Robert Rand of South Carolina, Harold Rand of North Carolina and Gary Rand of Maine; her sisters, Janette Barker, Margaret Turner, both of Washburn, Marie Wandrey of Iowa, Gail Bull of Maine and Edwina Stairs of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by family from a previous marriage, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Velva and George Doody of Washburn. She was predeceased by brothers, Weldon, Max and Alex; and sister, Ellent and Sarah. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. June 26 at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Dot Matson officiating.
