ATHENS – Richard “Dick” N. Jones, 71, of Brighton Road, died unexpectedly June 22, 2009, at his work. He was born Oct. 9, 1937, in Portland, a son of James Neill Jones and Margaret A. West Jones-Richardson. Dick was educated in Standish schools and graduated from Standish High School. Dick worked as a bottler at Oakhurst Dairy of Portland for many years. He was a member of the Portland Masons. He enjoyed the Fryeburg and Cumberland fairs many years. Surviving are one daughter, Laurie K. Jones-Doody of Kennebunk; two sons, Oakley N. Jones of Skowhegan and Kyle E. Jones of Westbrook; two sisters, Carlene J. Banks of Salem, N.Y., and Deborah A. Lewis of Dover-Foxcroft; one brother, Edward E. Jones of Gray; and six grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. June 24 at Neal & York Funeral Home, 12 High St., Porter, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. June 25. Burial will be at Kezar Falls Grounds at a later date.
