BAINBRIDGE, Ga. – Teddy A. Hunter, 87, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at his home. He was born May 8, 1922, in Macwahoc, the son of Henry Hunter and Ernestine (Coburn) Hunter. Teddy retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years of service, serving during World War II and Korea. Teddy was the recipient of the Bronze Star for heroism. He was a certified mechanic, loved to tinker on his Fords and enjoyed classic country music. Teddy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mildred Hunter of Bainbridge, Ga.; his daughter, Kim Elaine Boyett and her husband, Jimmy, of Bainbridge, Ga.; and sons, Mark Hunter of Bainbridge, Ga., Tab Hunter of Mobile, Ala., Timmy Hunter of Bristol, Va., Tommy Hunter and his wife, Nadine, of Meadowview, Va., and Terry Hunter and his wife, Elaine, of Ashland; his brother, Henry Hunter Jr. of Macwahoc; his sister, Corene Moody of Augusta; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, Bainbridge, Ga., with the Rev. Milton Harrison officiating.
