BUCKSPORT – Shirley M. Campbell, 73, died July 8, 2009, surrounded by her family, at a local hospital. She was born May 28, 1936, in Grand Falls Plantation, the daughter of Leon and Marenia (Hurd) Sibley. Shirley attended Lee Academy and finished her education at Beal College. She was a homemaker, deli-manager, small business owner, but most of all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Shirley was feisty, fun loving, fiery and loved “games of chance.” If the worth of a person is measured by the family and friends that love them, then Shirley was the richest person on Earth. Shirley is survived by her grandson, Christopher Wallace; son, Lauren C. “Butch” Campbell and his daughter, Bonnie; daughter, Bessie Moe and her daughter, Shirley; daughter, Fae Baur and her husband, Bill and granddog, Penny; son, Levi Dam Jr. and his wife, Keely and their daughter, Amanda; son, Rexford “Ricky” Dam and his wife, Esther and their daughters, Kimberly, Brandie and Jessica; son, Bernard VanDamme and his children, Cameron, Nicole and Amanda; daughter, Leigh Spears and her husband, Robin and their children, Andrew, Megan, Bridget and Brianna; daughter, Margaret Rankin and her husband, Ed and their children, Holly, Ed Jr. and Jeffrey; daughter, Laurie Brooks and her daughters, Christy and Audrey; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eva Sibley; brother, Francis Sibley and his wife, Dorothy; sister, Kathy Zinkle and husband, Jerome; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Wayne Ingalls. Shirley was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lauren H. Campbell; daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Jere Wallace; son-in-law, John Brooks; siblings, Thelma Harriman, Woodrow Sibley, Franklin Sibley, Hortense Farrington, Alvah Sibley and Carolyne Boyington; and great-grandson, Amergin Quinn Spencer. Graveside services will be held noon Tuesday, July 14, at Mount Repose Cemetery, Main Road, Burlington. Donations may be made in her name to Bucksport Senior Citizens, P.O.
