LINCOLN and ORONO – Aura “Aurie” Graham, 91, passed away peacefully July 14, 2009, at Orono Commons Nursing Home. She was born July 25, 1917, in Bancroft, one of Eldon and Viola Irish’s 14 children. She and Bill lived in Glenwood Plantation a good portion of their 60 years of marriage. She enjoyed her flower gardens, cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wilfred “Bill” Graham and their infant son, Raymond. She is survived by three children and their families: a son, Eugene “Gene” Graham and his wife, Mary, of Lincoln; two daughters, Edna Doane and her husband, Myron, of Enfield and Althea Fowler of Fort Mills, S.C.; four grandsons and their spouses, Jamie and Gaye Graham of Lincoln, Paul and Jen Doane of Gorham, Peter and Angela Doane of Clive, Iowa, Mark and Tonya Fowler of Richburg, S.C.; a granddaughter, Sheila Freeze of Florida; two stepgrandsons and their families, David Doane and Lydia Sy of Waterville, and John and Marianne Doane of Barrington, N.H.; three great-grandchildren, James, Kara and Nathan; and seven step-great-grandchildren, Bryce, Megan, Taylor, Ryan, Gregg, Carlton and Haley; several nieces and nephews and their families. The family gives special thanks to Sue and Elton Shorey of Orono for always being there for our mom during her stay at Orono Commons. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Wytopitlock Cemetery.
