LEVANT – Isabelle Overlock, 71, died peacefully July 13, 2009, with her loving husband, Marvin, of 46 years, at her side at her home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Falmouth, daughter of the late Ross L. and Alice (Boyle) Baker. Isabelle graduated from Falmouth High School, Class of 1956, and attended Moody Bible Institute for two years and Bob Jones University. After graduation she was a release time Bible teacher for New England Fellowship of Evangelicals. For many years Isabelle provided much assistance in support of her husband’s pastoral ministries. Surviving in addition to her husband, the Rev. Marvin M. Overlock of Levant, are two daughters, Marilee A. Hewes of Scarborough and Karen M. Johnston and her husband, Albert, of Hermon; five granddaughters, Amanda and Danielle Hewes, Lindsey, Kathryn and Abigail Johnston; three brothers, Richard Baker of North Carolina, Charles Baker of South Carolina and Lester Baker of Windham; three sisters, Barbara Bailey of Florida, Charlotte Cole of Maryland and Betty Baker of Florida; several wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. The family expresses their profound gratitude to Dr. Eric Brown and New Hope Hospice. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Hermon Baptist Church.
