CAMDEN – Wilda E. Ross, 99, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Quarry Hill, Camden, after a period of declining health. Born May 17, 1910, in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of Ray and Helen Burns Parks. She was educated locally. She married Fred Ross, and the couple made their home in Houlton for many years. After the death of her husband in 1956, Mrs. Ross moved to Connecticut. Working in the Hartford, Conn., area for many years, she retired from Aetna Insurance Co. Mrs. Ross remained in Connecticut until 2006 when she returned to Maine to live with her sister, Elizabeth Putansu, in Spruce Head. In September 2008 she moved to Quarry Hill, where she had since resided. Mrs. Ross took great pleasure in admiring flowers and could name any that she saw. Mrs. Ross is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Putansu of Spruce Head; as well as several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date.
