BANGOR – Maxine C. Woodmancy, 72, passed away Aug. 2, 2009, with her loving family at her side, at her daughter’s home in Hermon. She was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Athens, the daughter of William and Doris (Lancaster) Hartley. Maxine spent time nurturing her grandchildren through bike rides, playing games and cooking with them. She had a great love of Maine and rock collecting. Maxine had many happy memories of camping and family get-togethers, and traveling with her husband, “Woody”; she made many new friends along the way. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard “Woody” Woodmancy; her children, Ann Marie and Kevin Van Boxell, Allen Hollobaugh and Michele, Yvonne and Don Johnston, Gerald Hollobaugh, John Hollobaugh and Cindy, Regina and Robert Jones; her much loved 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Clayton Lancaster and Freela, and Kenneth Hartley and Sally; a sister-in-law, Maxine Hartley; her aunts, Elizabeth Cobb and Olive Foster; her uncle, Raymond Lancaster and Emerald; her former husband and father of the children, Jack Hollobaugh; daughter-in-law, Teresa Rush; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, William, Charles and Lawrence Hartley; and her grandson, Gerald Hollobaugh Jr. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Mount Rest Cemetery, Athens.
