ST. AGATHA – Pauline Derosier, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born April 23, 1922, in Biddeford, daughter of Alfred and Amanda (Martineau) Jacques. She attended St. Joseph School, Biddeford. She was a hairdresser when she met the love of her life, Luke Derosier Sr. They were married June 23, 1945, in Biddeford, and moved to St. Agatha shortly after. In addition to being a housewife, Pauline was an indispensable part of Luke’s farming business. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 145, Ladies of St. Anne, eucharistic minister and a very dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley in Sinclair. She took pleasure in traveling, entertaining and spending time with her family and friends at the camp, baking and playing cards. Pauline will be dearly missed by her loving family, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Luke Sr.; three brothers, Edward, Raoul and Andre; and five sisters, Rose Eva, Imelda, Annabelle, Noella and Antoinette. Her survivors include one daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Francis Fournier, of Biddeford; two sons, Richard “Dick” and his wife, Carol, and Luke Jr. “Butch” and his wife, Margie, of St. Agatha. Other survivors include a brother, Lucien and his wife, Ruth, of Biddeford. Most beloved were the seven grandchildren, Robin Ruel, Anthony Fournier and his wife, Marissa, Lisa Derosier, Becky and her husband, Ryan Pelletier, Jennifer and her husband, Jason Daigle, Jason Derosier, Michelle and her husband, Shawn Martin; and nine great-grandchildren, Justin and Mariah Ruel, Sophia and Mason Fournier, Reece and Logan Pelletier, Kelsie Daigle, Cameron Derosier and Emily Martin. Family and friends may attend her viewing 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Committal services will be at Upper Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made in Pauline’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of Aroostook or a charity of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
