SANGERVILLE – Dorothy P. (Robichaud) Hall, 87, wife of the late Donald Martin Hall, died peacefully Aug. 7, 2009, while surrounded by her children and her companion, Bill, at her home. She was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Dover-Foxcroft, the fourth of six daughters and one son born to Fred and Gertrude (Ginholdt) Robichaud. Dottie graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1941. On May 30, 1942, she married Donald Martin Hall and together they raised their family on the farm in Sangerville. To help make ends meet she worked for Dexter Shoe Co. for several years. During the years her husband was in the Maine House of Representatives, Dottie proudly served as committee clerk to the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. In her youth she loved to roller skate, sing and dance. She belonged to Order of the Eastern Star, East Sangerville Grange and First Universalist Church and its choir in Sangerville. She took pride in her children and their accomplishments. Later on in her life, when she wasn’t touring the world with her companion, Bill, she took great pleasure in crocheting warm and beautiful afghans for her family, putting together photo albums, fitting 3,000 piece puzzles together and reading a good mystery. Dottie is survived by her children, Linda J. Hall and her husband, Jim Meikle, of Parkman, Sandra Ross of Sangerville and her companion, John Graf, of Blanchard, Diana Bray and her husband, Alan, of Sangerville, Toby Hall and his wife, Cynthia, of Sangerville and Ronald Hall and his companion, Bonnie Graff, of Guilford; her very special companion of 12 years, Bill; a sister, Pauline Deronde and her husband, Jack, of La Verne, Calif.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. Hall in 1992; a grandson, Jeffrey A. Kilpatrick in 1992; four sisters, Isabel Martin, Maxine Anderson, Billie Anderson and Ruth Noyes; and an infant brother, Paul Robichaud. At her request, there will be a brief graveside service with only her family in attendance. In lieu of flowers, please make donation in Dottie’s memory to Don Hall Scholarship Fund, Maine Community Foundation, 245 Main St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
