KENNEBUNK – Edward Paul Foster, 70, passed away Aug. 13, 2009, at RiverRidge Center, Kennebunk. He was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Eastport, and was the son of Ruel and Cecilia (Duncan) of Howland. Paul was a graduate of Howland High School, Class of 1956, and Husson College, Bangor, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1960. After teaching for a couple of years he pursued a few different careers and retired from the U.S. Post Office, Portland, in 2002. He was the adventurous one of the family and loved to travel to distant places. Paul is survived by his brother, James Robert and his wife, Valerie, of Howland; three nephews, James and his wife, Julie, Scott and his wife, Mary-Ann, and Mike and his wife, Susan, all of Howland; great-nephews, Marshall and Wyatt; great-nieces, Jessica, Kacy, Aimee and Kati; one great-great-niece, Kaelyn; an aunt, Sadie Duncan; and many cousins. He will be remembered fondly by many good friends and his best friend of 44 years, Jim Kidder of Honolulu. The family gives a special thank you to the doctors, nursing staff and therapists at RiverRidge Center, Kennebunk, Maine Medical Center, Portland, and St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, for the excellent care he was given; and to his good friend and caregiver, Roland Danico. A memorial service will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 22, at Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, where family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service.
