BAILEYVILLE – William P. Dereszewski Jr., 66, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at his home. Bill was born April 6, 1943, in Detroit, son of the late William and Veronica (Kudrycki) Dereszewski Sr. Upon graduating from Lincoln High School, Michigan, he entered the U.S. Army for their intensive 13-week training to be a radar technician. While stationed in New Jersey, Bill married Patricia Hold, Dec. 17, 1966. After serving four years in the Army, Bill and his wife stayed in New Jersey, where he worked in electronics for North Atlantic Industries. In the early 1980s, they decided to move to Maine. Bill became employed with the maintenance department at Georgia Pacific. He eventually started consulting for various corporations. During this time, Bill had several books published that he wrote with wiring schematics for large electrical turbines. He also taught classes on electrical turbine trouble shooting. Bill loved the outdoors, going for walks, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Michael. Surviving are his loving wife of more than 42 years, Patricia Dereszewski; two children, Lisa Harp and her husband, Ed, of Stigler, Okla., and William Dereszewski and his wife, Therese, of Baileyville; two grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Seth Austin Saunders and Luke Luigi Belliveau of Edgewater, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Ann Hold Landers of Edgewater, Fla.; special friends, Ted and Natalie Kahler of Baileyville; his special canine companions, Tashi and Puchi; and his feline companion, Dexter. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
