BUCKSPORT – John F. Wilson, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at his home, after a long illness. He was born March 29, 1919, in Stockton Springs, the son of Frank A. and Mattie (Foss) Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for 26 years with Roland Grindle Insurance Agency as an insurance agent at the Brewer and Bucksport offices. He was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church. He was a past master of Felicity Lodge No. 19, was a member of Hancock Chapter R.A.M. No. 19, Order of the Eastern Star No. 195, all of Bucksport, Castine Grange No. 250 and past master of Verona Grange No. 206. He served as livestock superintendent for the Blue Hill Fair for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Ola (Morrison) Wilson of Bucksport; one daughter-in-law, Donna Wilson of Bucksport; two stepdaughters, Judy Pehrson and Janet Bouchard; three grandchildren, Greg Wilson, Gary Wilson and Kelly Chambers; five great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, three great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including nieces, Suzanne Williams and husband, Robert, of Nashua, N.H., and Vicki Rowell and Joseph Haskell of Newburgh; as well as special friends, Jeff and Ann Witham of Bucksport. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred (Billings) Wilson, in 1980; son, Wilber F. Wilson; stepdaughter, Jackie Wade; and sister, Helen Gross. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Hillside Cemetery, Bucksport, with the Rev. Carl Scribner officiating.
