Before, during and after the elections in Afghanistan, reports of ballot-stuffing and other
irregularities surfaced. Should this affect U.S. policy in the country? Is the U.S. goal to
“bring democracy” to that nation? Or should U.S. policy instead focus on making
Afghanistan inhospitable to terrorist groups? Can a stable pro-Western government be
established there?
