HERMON – Darrell F. Gee, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Palmyra, the son of Newman and Kathleen (McShane) Gee. Darrell enjoyed a 30-year career as a salesman with Giltex Corp. He was a member of Lynde Lodge No. 174 AF & AM of Hermon and Hermon Fire Department. Darrell enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, boating, four-wheeling and bingo. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Roberta (Wilson) Gee; daughter, Candy Charloux and her husband, Larry, of Hermon; sons, Allyn Gee and his companion, Pam Cole, of Gray, and Kevin Gee and his wife, Doreen, of Falmouth; brother, John Gee and his wife, Kitty, of Chesterville; sister-in-law, Gweneth Gee of Washington; grandchildren, Jolene, Valaree, Victorya, Alec, Tyler and Brendan; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Darrell was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Gee; and a sister, Patricia Rourke. The family thanks Ross Manor for all their care and comfort. A service of remembrance will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
