TRESCOTT – Elden Eugene Lyons, 82, passed away Aug. 29, 2009, surrounded by his family and his devoted canine companion, Baby, after a long illness, at home. He was born April 2, 1927, in West Lubec, the son of Guy and Addie (Lawton) Lyons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Stuart-Green Post No. 65, Lubec. He loved being with family and friends, playing guitar and dancing. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Corrine (Denbow) Lyons; a son, Dexter Lyons and wife, Paula, of Trescott; four daughters, Pamela Donahue and husband, Ron, of Florida, Tina States and husband, Ken, of Livermore, Cindy Lien and husband, Dave, of Brunswick and Lynn Huffman and husband, Troy, of Machiasport; a brother, Malcolm Lyons and wife, Mary, of Windham; grandchildren, Ronnie, Peter, Wade, Ben, Crystal, Sheldon, Tyra, Megan, Zachary and Wesley; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Earl; and four sisters, Mary, Bernice, Rosella and Grace. At his request, services will be private.
