EAGLE LAKE – Lawrence Dube, 78, died Aug. 30, 2009, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Aug. 14, 1931, at Eagle Lake, the son of Willie and Stella (Gallant) Dube. Lawrence committed his life in taking care of his mother, Stella; and his brother, Armand, but his love for his church was his passion. He would see that the church was locked or unlocked every day and make sure that the parking lot was plowed in the winter. Whenever many other duties around the church needed to be done, Lawrence was always there. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and mostly his church. He is survived by his sisters, Laurine St. Germain of Eagle Lake, Bertha LaCombe of Avon, Conn., Maxine Cyr of Ashland and Genieve Parent of Unionville, Conn.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mae Dube, Eunice Ayotte, Louise Gorneault, Mildred Brown and Jeannette Ouellette; and his brothers, Willie Jr. and Armand Dube. Family members will greet friends 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will be afterward in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, care of St. John Vianney Parish, 26 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Arrangements are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
