VAN BUREN – Gilberte M. Beaulieu, 89, died Aug. 28, 2009, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Riviere Bleu, Quebec, the daughter of Hilaire and Edith (Morneault) Beaulieu. She was educated in Quebec schools and received her teaching certificate from St. Pascal College. She also earned an associate degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent and worked as a teachers aide at Champlain School and Gateway Elementary School, Van Buren, for several years. She was also employed by the schools as a cook in the cafeteria for a number of years, as well as a cook at Borderview Manor. Earlier on, Gilberte worked as a housekeeper at St. Bruno Rectory, Van Buren and St. Joseph’s, Hamlin. She is survived by two sons, Adrian Beaulieu of Warwick, R.I., and Emery Beaulieu of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Christianne Beaulieu of Warwick, R.I., and Martha Winder and husband, Steve, of New Cumberland, Pa.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
