LINCOLN – Dalton E. White, 62, husband of Cheryl (Long) White, passed away Aug. 31, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born April 29, 1947, in Bangor, the son of Horace and Blanche (Ham) White. Dalton was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He drove school bus for nearly 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on his ATV. In addition to his wife, Cheryl, he is survived a son, Shawn White and his fiancee, Amanda (Day) Plourde, of Lincoln; two brothers and their wives, Malcolm and Betty White of Webster, and Roger and Juanita White of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Velma Long of Patten; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gaynor Bates of Connecticut, Gary Long and Sheila, Gayland Long and Juanita, all of Sherman, and Darilee Conroy and Frank of Bradley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and many, many friends. He leaves special friends, Mark James and Maryanne Brackett of Woodville. He also leaves his special pet, his dog, Wishbone. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first son, Paul; his father-in-law, Percy Long; and his nephew, Malcolm White. A graveside service with full military honors will be held noon Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Springfield Village Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Swan officiating.
