UTICA, N.Y. – Elinor Louise Dysart Leach, 86, of 1668 Hager St., died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at the Martin Luther Home. She was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Utica, N.Y., a daughter of Samuel and Marie Richthammer Dysart. She graduated from Utica Free Academy and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She married Earl A. Leach Sr., Nov. 30, 1946, in Utica, N.Y. Mrs. Leach was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a life member of the Animal Protection League, and spent countless hours caring for animals. She had a special affinity for the state of Maine and her many relatives there. She also loved camping and canoeing in the Adirondack Mountains. In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and David Fuller of Utica, N.Y., and Judith Leach of Utica, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, Earl A. and Charmaine Leach of Chetck, Wis.; six grandchildren who she loved dearly, Colleen Martinez and her husband, Victor, Cameron Leach and his wife, Tiffiny, Cory Leach, Brendan Leach, Autumn Leach and Mark Leach; and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves her special “family” The Kuhn’s, Dan and Karen and their sons, Stephen and Patrick and his wife, Jennifer; and a special friend, Betty Brady. Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court St., Utica, N.Y. The funeral will be noon Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Utica, N.Y., with the Rev. Dr. Richard Mokry officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at the convenience of the family at Forest Hill Cemetery.
