ETNA – Gary L. Sinclair, 61, beloved husband of Jacquelyn (Eaton) Sinclair, lost a very courageous battle with cancer Sept. 16, 2009, at Togus VA Medical Center. Gary was born July 23, 1948, in Waterville, the son of Linwood and Edith (Shannon) Sinclair. He attended Corinna schools and graduated in 1968 from Wassakeag Prep School, Dexter. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force, 1968-1972, during the Vietnam War, serving for a year in Southeast Asia as an aircraft mechanic. Gary’s life work was as a diesel and auto mechanic and heavy equipment operation and transport. He worked for several of the state’s largest companies during his lifetime including Superior Paper Co., Cianbro Corp., UPS and Paul O’Halloran Transport. Gary will always be remembered by his loved ones and friends as the guy you could count on to fix what was broken, no matter what it was. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and he spent a lot of time with special friends in Danforth during his last years. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn Sinclair of Etna; his parents, Linwood and Edith Sinclair of Corinna; a daughter, Joy Sinclair of Bangor; a stepson, Matt Wilson and his wife, Cary, of Plymouth; an adopted son, James Sinclair and his wife, Melissa, of Corinna; four grandchildren, Bradley and Alison Wilson, Abby and Irene Sinclair; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will also be remembered by his wife’s parents, Maynard and Shirley Eaton of Exeter. Gary was predeceased by his beloved brother, Galen in 1985. His family wishes to convey a very heartfelt thank you to CancerCare of Maine, The Maine Veterans Administration, Togus and Bangor; Community Health and Counseling Hospice program of Bangor and New England Home Health Care of Bangor.
