HOULTON – Doris A. “Dot” Getchell, 92, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, in Houlton. She was born March 10, 1917, in New Limerick, the daughter of Joseph and Annie Brown. She cherished working many years in nursing at Madigan Memorial Hospital. She was a former member of New Limerick Baptist Church, Houlton Grange and Amity-Cary Grange. She is survived by her son, Robert Howe and wife, Marilyn, of Milledgeville, Ga.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family, Leigh Cummings Sr. and his wife, Sylvia. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Howe of New Limerick; her later husband, Harold Getchell of Houlton; and one son, Clair Wright. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery.
