BUCKSPORT – Mary Lou Murch, 76, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, with her loving family by her side at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 26, 1933, in Milford, the daughter of Ethel Morrison. Mary Lou’s greatest pleasure in life was her family. She was a devoted die hard Boston Red Sox fan, often scheduling important life events around Red Sox games. She enjoyed spending time playing games and cards, camp visits with her extended family and reading a good book. Mary Lou was a member of Elm Street Congregational Church. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her children, David E. Murch Jr. and Tammie Woods of Orland, Linda Fairbrother and husband, Daniel, Susan Murch and husband, Brad Burnham, Paula Allard and husband, Randy, all of Bucksport, and Kevin Murch and wife, Paula, of Bangor; grandchildren, Carey Sheehan and husband, Troy, David E. Murch III and Stacy Gomm, Becky Murch, Kimberly Sanborn and husband, Lance, Blake Murch, Katie Proulx, Kelly Proulx, Sarah Murch and Emily Murch; great-grandchildren, Austin Sheehan, Sydney Shee-han, Trinidy Murch, Jesse Sweeny, Tyler Sweeny, Carly Sweeny and Alexander Sanborn; sisters-in-law, Ruth Sherman and Patsy Woods; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Murch; as well as numerous cousins that she was close to and fond of. In addition to her mother, Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, David E. Murch Sr. in 1997; and one grandson, Daniel Fairbrother Jr. The family extends a special thanks to Barbara Kenney for her loving care of Mary Lou. Family and friends will gather for visitation 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Elm Street Congregational Church with the Rev. Linda A. Smith officiating. A reception will be held immediately after the service in Brown Hall. Due to Mary Lou’s passion for the Boston Red Sox, the family invites all who would like, to wear Red Sox apparel to the services.
