BROOKLIN – Albert M. Bridges, 82, died Oct. 3, 2009, at his home. He was born July 14, 1927, in Blue Hill, the son of Elmer M. and Eulalie L. (Carter) Bridges. Albert left Brooklin High School to enlist in the U.S. Navy, serving with the 7th Fleet in the South Pacific. After the war, he returned to Brooklin and graduated with the Class of 1947. He became a commercial fisherman for most of his life. He is survived by his dear wife of 61 years, Olive (Leach) Bridges; a daughter, Olive “Livy” Bridges of California; a grandson, Joshua Collins and wife, Holly, of Boston; a granddaughter, Amber and husband, John Bakeman, of Cape Rosier; two great-grandchildren, Elana and John Bakeman IV; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; beloved son, Albert M. Jr., in 1952; two brothers, Elmer A. and Robert W.; and two sisters, Louise Chatto – Mrs. Warren and Byrle Carter – Mrs. Harry. At his request there is no funeral. Private interment in the family lot at Sedgwick Cemetery.
