HAMMOND PLANTATION – Stephen E. Crane, 62, died Oct. 5, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Houlton, the son of Harry and Geneva (Haggerty) Crane. Stephen worked for Houlton Water Co. for 27 years, doing many jobs throughout his career. After his retirement, he still enjoyed having coffee with the employees at Houlton Water Co. Stephen liked walking around town and was an avid cribbage player with the motto, “Win even if you have to peg a few extra holes.” Stephen is survived by his wife, Pauline E. (Adams) Crane; his daughter, Stephanie and Rob Lively of Houlton; one grandson, who was Stephen’s pride and joy, Christian Earl Lively of Houlton; his brother, Tom Levasseur of Houlton; his sister, Edna Levasseur of Edmundston, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Hartley; and two sisters Mary and Lillian. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home where services will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will be in Linneus Cemetery.
