BAR HARBOR – Barbara Rodick Silk, 79, died Oct. 4, 2009, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. She was born March 16, 1930, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Harold and Gertrude “Skip” (Emery) Rodick. Barbara loved going around the Ocean Drive, especially if there was good surf. In earlier times, she enjoyed skiing and walking around Eagle Lake with her family and her best friend, Sybe. Until recently on sunny days she could be found at Hadley’s Point enjoying the sun with her friend, Elaine and the girls. Barbara will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her twin son, John H. Silk of Bar Harbor; two daughters, Jane and husband, Bill Hauer, of Bar Harbor and Nancy and husband, David Goodwin, of Mariaville; grandchildren, Shawn, Jana, Ashley, Jody and Carly; and one great-grandchild, Cam. Barbara was predeceased by one of her twin sons, Richard “Dick” Silk. Private family services will be held at a later date.
