SKOWHEGAN – Eugene C. Johnson Sr., 74, passed away Oct. 11, 2009, surrounded by his family, at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1934, the son of Phillip and Lillian (Johnson) Wright. Eugene was in the Air Force before he worked for 33 years at Strayer Textile Mill, Orono. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS. Eugene is survived by his wife, Donna (Sibley) Johnson; three children, Eugene Jr., Kathrine “Kathy” Johnson and Susan Marie Willows; two foster children, Carl and Sam Winchester; stepson, Kevin Pete of Kentucky; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eugene is also survived by his half brother, Evert Wright; his half sister, Patricia Wright; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his half brother, Phillip Wright Jr. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Lawndale Cemetery, Stillwater Avenue, Old Town. After the burial, all are invited to a gathering at VFW, 64 Water St., Old Town. Services entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home.
