LIMESTONE – Janet K. Edgecomb, 65, passed away Oct. 14, 2009, at Borderview, Van Buren. She was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Ironsides, Md., the daughter of John and Helen (Risko) Welch. Janet grew up in Laplata, Md., and graduated high school. She worked for the FBI for 12 years as a supervisor in the fingerprint department. Janet loved her family and being a mom was the most important thing in her life. She loved her family and friends very much, and will be dearly missed by them all. Janet also had a passion for gardening and could always be seen working in her flowerbeds. She was a member of Limestone United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Theriault and her husband, Freeman Theriault Jr., of Woodland, and Andrea Edgecomb and her special friend, Scott Emond, of Perham; her former husband and father to her two daughters, Richard Edgecomb of Limestone; three brothers, Charlie Welch and his wife, Judy, Morris “Marty” Welch and his wife, Susan, and Tommy Welch and his wife, Linda Welch, all of Maryland; as well as several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by a special cousin, Patsy Longnecker. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard “Doc” Welch. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Limestone United Methodist Church with Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. A private committal will take place after the service.
