BANGOR – Mary Frances (Crawford) Doll, 85, wife of the late George A. Doll, passed away Oct. 15, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Bangor, daughter of James R. and Annie J. (Kavanaugh) Crawford. Mary was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and St. John’s Women’s Council. She was also a member of YAC Club of Bangor. Mary loved to sew and bake, and was well known for her homemade yeast rolls. Her family was her life and she was an absolutely devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son, Richard “Rick” Doll and wife, Jacquelyn, of Bangor; grandchildren, Shawn R. Doll and wife, Kimberly, of Rockport, Kaila M. Doll, Kara D. Doll and Karissa D. Doll, all of Bangor; three great-grandchildren, Arria, Mikenzie and Thomas; a sister, Eva Crawford Estey of Bangor; a sister-in-law, Virginia Stark and husband, Douglas, of Augusta; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, George, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas “Tom” Doll; two sisters, Lillian Crawford and Estelle Mortell; and three brothers, Richard, Charles and Lincoln Crawford. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Maine Veterans’ Home Alzheimer’s Unit for their wonderful care and attention. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Paul the Apostle, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the interment at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
