CORINTH – Edwin W. Smith, 77, died Oct. 19, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 25, 1932, in Bradford, a son of Walter and Minnie (French) Smith. He was a self-employed truck driver for 50 years, traveling in the lower 48 states and Canada. Ed was a longtime member of Charleston Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Rockwell) Smith of Corinth; three sons, Kenneth and wife, Elaine, Michael, all of Corinth, and Richard and wife, Karen, of Ocala, Fla.; daughter, Wanda and husband, Joel Greatorex, of Corinth; brother, Roger and wife, Helen, of Corinth; sister, Madeline and husband, Cecil Obar, of Prospect, Conn.; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ada Rockwell of Charleston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed Smith; an amazing and humble man, one who impacted so many lives in so many incredible ways. Live with no excuses. Love with no regrets. Laugh a lot. Leave this life with nothing left unsaid. Make this world a better place. Don’t be afraid to cry and when it’s finally time to say goodbye, there’s nothing to prove, nothing to lose, nothing to hide. Your love will fill our hearts forever. Your wisdom will guide us, till we meet again, where the sun never sets. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Charleston Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Soul’s Harbor, P.O.
