BANGOR – Cynthia M. (Paul) Smith, 52, wife of Charles L. Smith, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 16, 2009, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Bangor and was born there May 15, 1957, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lucille E. (Perry) Paul. Cynthia enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales and listening to rain fall on the roof, but the focus of her life was always on her family. She will be remembered as loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Charles; her children, Charles J. Smith and longtime girlfriend, Shauna Thurston, Michael A. Smith and girlfriend, Tasha Clements, Amanda M. Smith and Amy L. Smith, all of Bangor; her sisters and brother, Carol A. Green of Glenburn, Richard A. Paul and fiancee, Robin Wain, of Greenbush, and Robin S. Paul of Bangor; grandchildren, Tyler, Gage, Adrianna, Michael and Jayden; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and many, many friends. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson, pastor of Corinth United Methodist Church, officiating.
