SCARBOROUGH – Eleanor Theresa Morrill, 81, formerly of Old Town and Bangor, died Oct. 20, 2009. She was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Stillwater, a daughter of William Joseph and Nora (Lacadie) Cary. Eleanor was a graduate of Old Town High School. After graduation she worked for American Woolen, Old Town. She married Kenneth Leroy “Sparky” Morrill and stayed home to raise her family of two girls and two boys. In 1967 Eleanor went to work at Sylvania, Bangor, and retired from there in 1989. Eleanor loved her family and spending time together. She was a homebody and enjoyed caring for her garden. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; sisters, Constance Graham, Olivia Wells, Esther Marie Cary and Rita Foster; and brothers, Reginald Cary, Francis Cary and Bernard Cary. Eleanor is survived by daughters, Pamela A. Girardin and her husband, Thomas, of Canterbury, Conn., and Jane M. Giles and her husband, Paul, of East Greenwich, R.I.; sons, Thomas A. Morrill and his wife, Karen, and Kenneth W. Morrill, all of Scarborough; six grandchildren, Jennifer Vincent, Jeremy Mitchell, Sean Morrill, Kristen Morrill, Cameron Giles and Kenneth Owen Giles; and one great-grandson, Colin Mitchell. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Riverside Cemetery, Old Town. Arrangements respectfully handled by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
