LINCOLN – Eugene A. Powers Sr., 66, husband of Elizabeth (Marshall) Powers, passed away Oct. 20, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 19, 1943, in Lincoln, the son of Mark O. and Ethel (Nason) Powers. Gene was a boiler operator for 31 years at Lincoln Pulp & Paper. He was well known in the area for promoting electricity grounding with water barrels. He had worked for W & H Electronics and was known as “radio man” on the CB. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by a son, Eugene Powers Jr., of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Dakota, Cordell and Dyllan, all of Lincoln; and foster son, Dwight Gary of Bangor. He outlived his brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his two dogs, Bear and Cuddles. He was predeceased by his cat, Tigger; and dog, Bandit. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery.
