VAN BUREN – Robert J. Corbin, 57, died Oct. 17, 2009, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1951, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the son of John and Celia Corbin. He was educated in local schools and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Bob was employed as an accountant for many years, and most recently worked at DFAS, Limestone. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1971 to 1973. He was a member of American Legion Post 49, Van Buren. Bob is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Marlene (Beaulieu) Corbin of Van Buren; one daughter, Wanda Ouellette of Caribou; one granddaughter, Sierra Ouellette of Caribou; two brothers, Frank and Sylvio Corbin, both of Van Buren; two sisters, Nancy Jimenez of Bridgeport, Conn., and Lorraina Pelletier of Grand Falls, New Brunswick. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Conrad Corbin in 1984, John Corbin Jr. in 2005 and Albert Corbin in 2007. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Committal service with military honors will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
