HOULTON – Kathleen “Kay” Coy, 85, passed away peacefully Oct. 18, 2009, in her sleep. She was born June 19, 1924, in Stratford-on-Avon, England, and came to Canada with her family in 1931. She was one of three children born to Albert and Nellie (Gregory) Chambers. Kay served in the Canadian Army during World War II and her way of life reflected those military years in that she was organized and abundantly precise in every way possible. Her life was never the same after the sudden passing of her husband and best friend, Willie, 26 years ago. Kay is survived by her sister, Jean Colwell; her sister-in-law, Avis Chambers; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Charles William “Willie” Coy; her brother, Greville Chambers; her nephew, David Chambers; and her brother-in-law, Bud Colwell. She will be dearly missed by those closest to her heart. Funeral services will be held noon Eastern Standard Time, 1 p.m. Atlantic Daylight Time, Tuesday, Oct. 27, with a Legion tribute at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Littleton Cemetery. Kay was a cancer survivor and in doing so wished that gifts by made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
